Just another story

i must blog this down. i must say, the taste of victory is sweet. the taste of victory after a hard fight is even sweeter! and i am loving it!

woke up today at 5 odd. struggled with myself, thought of giving the netball match a miss as i was really tired (wat to expect when i slept at 3.30 last "night"?!) but i was "guilty" cause i had already promised sab that i will be there. beside, i dun have a valid reason to give it a miss. so, i woke up and i went to change and followed dad's car out to city hall. had my favourite bah chor mee and shared it with my younger sis bf! hahaha. we half half. haha. cause my dad sent him down to work also since it is also in city hall area. i must say that i really didnt regret travelling that long distance down just for the netball game today! and i think i will regret more if i had missed today's match! haha. :) here's the exciting story about today's game:

the match was at 8.30. was suppose to report at src at 7.30/7.45 for warm up and admin stuff. however, i was late la. i reached hall at about 7.30, went up room to changed into sports attire, came down and was too lazy to walk to src. so waited for shuttle bus instead. saw steph and chen ni also. haha. so the 3 of us went together. say also aditya and stanny carrying the big tumbler and the first aid kit boarding the shuttle bus as well. chatted a bit with them and got aditya's hp no and his room no, so i can go collect the tumbler when it is my turn to do welfare duty on monday. i officially reached src with chen ni at around 8.15. the rest of the hall 15 netballers already started with their drills and all already sweating like crazy le(which means they already did alot of stuff when i reached). join in the line so as to join in the drill.. but.. just when it was about to be my turn, the referee came. ask us to proceed to the court for nail inspection and what not. so.. no chance for warm up. anyway, it is alright de. haha. i usually never do warm up or cool down de la. hahaha. after inspection and all, the game started. hall 14 scored the first goal. but we caught up and continue scoring. not too sure about the score at the end of the first quarters, only know that at the end of the 2nd quarter (by then, half the match was gone), we were in the lead. 19-10. not bad not bad we thought to ourself. just continue to be like that and the game would be ours! haha. then, start of 3rd quarter, wa lao. suddenly, new players (switch of positions) and new strategy for opponent's team. and.. they had damn accurate shooters la. my god. almost 100% goal men. i dun think they missed a single shot. that is if my meomory didnt fail me. and so, that explains why in the 3rd quarters alone, they managed to catch up to be on par with us and there was even this short period of time that they were in the lead. scary sia. all our players also dun know why, think too kan cheong or wat, kept making lots and lots of mistakes. center pass wasnt good. throw in from side also not good. the shooters- missing almost every single shots! think everyone really too kan cheong. then, end of 3rd quarter. think they were in the lead. 1 point difference i think. cannot really remember. all i know was, 4th quarter was scary. and i was praying really v hard on the court! never in my life did i attempt to pray that "anxiously" before! haha. we did minor changes to our players. but thank God! hall 15 players manage to regain composure in the final quarter! everyone was more or less calmer (there is such a word right?!) and began to gain better controls of the balls. haha. so we took turns to score. manage to score that one more ball to bring the score to be on par. but.. think we were luckier in a sense. cause we manage to score 2 more balls than them. not that their shooters miss but because each time they were trying to aim, someone makes a mistake and so time were taken up. either that or just when the ball's about to land in the hands of the GS/GA, our beloved chun tin, the center player, hit the ball in the air so that it becomes an out ball! woohoo. that was beautiful men! well done chuan tin. hahaha. without that few save from chuan tin and maybe also jie ying, the WA, the outcome would have been very different. i really dun dare to see once they got hold to the ball. cause their shooting really v accurate! haha. anyway, the climax was this: last few seconds left, ball in the hand of the shooter, trying to aim and shoot. just as she was about to shoot, the whistle was blown! hahahaha. and so, the victory was hall 15's!!!!! the final score stand at 29-27!! think everyone was really happy and glad that we finally won the game!! haha. andy came over to give sab a hug! haha. so sweet of him. hahaha. (he's a really sweet bf! haha. can tell from the way he tried to "dry" the wet floor during our first match! he stop only when sab told him to stop by joking that he is addicted to "drying" the floor. the result? a very clear, distinct difference between our court and the court beside ours. ours was really DRY! haha. great job andy. i doubt nic will ever do such things, right darling?! haha. oops! :P) everyone started hugging everyone else. haha. then the cheering starts. haha. first for hall 14, then to hall 15, then to supporters. after all the cheerings, it was my favourite activity: PHOTO TAKING!!! haha. i think it is a norm to take photo after every game i suppose. hahaha. even during the game with hall 7 and despite being trashed terribly (60-0! can u imagine??!!), all the players also put on their widest smile, posing for the camera! hahaha. the end results doesnt matter, it's the process that counts. and since all the players already put on a hard and good fight against hall 7, even if we had lost, we should still be happy and proud of ourself ma right?! (err, not me. i wasnt there at the match against hall 7. haha. had an medical appointment. so gotta give that match a miss. :( sad that i miss out a good show! a good match that truely display the fighting spirit of the fiftians! haha.)

and so i say,
the taste of victory's sweet. BUT the taste of victory after a hard fight was EVEN SWEETER!

think we were happier today then we were last week when we won hall 8 17-1. haha. cause that match was an "easy" victory? not too sure. for me at least. i was happier today as compared to the day we won hall 8. haha. :) now, the next match's against hall 1. hall 15, we can do it!! :)

by the way, the jcrc president owes all the netballers a sakae sushi treat! haha. cause he say if we manage to win today's match and make it to the quarter finals, he will treat us to that. jie ying suggested going to equinox. hahaha. and i gladly volunteer my mother to tag along. haha. just so we can use her employee's card and enjoy 50% off the total bill! haha. that is if, we make it to the semis! hahaha. do we get to enjoy such a delicious and high class meal?? shall see if we can make it to the semis!! :) cheerios xv! :)
