Just another story

i know. i haven been updating. but that's cause, i have been really busy lately.

and so, spent a week in CHIJ OLN as a trainee teacher. the experience i must say is wonderful and touching. well. why touching? cause i seen how 2 teachers were so patient when dealing with a girl with severe ADHD and a class of failures since pri 1! men, they really taught me what it means to love and care for them from the bottom of your heart! had the opportunity to talk to the severe ADHD girl. found that she is such a pleasant girl! she is really lovable. though she is hyper active. and apart from ADHD, she is also suffering from several disorders too. she has central processing disorder which means her brain is a litte slow, poor hands and eyes coordination which means her hands isnt really quite "hers", poor eye sight (i mean those almost blind in one eye kind) and a few others. men. i felt sad for her men. i really do. she is such a lovely girl. anyway, had the opportunity to teach her maths with huiyin, 2 teachers to 1 student. spent a long time explaining the concept of "more than." question ask "how many more times did tail appear in the picture as compared to head" (or something like that..) wat she will do is that she will add the times head appear with the time tail appear. but we explain to her saying that she need to minus instead of adding the 2 together. and for that particular question, she will know how to do it. but then, the next question asking the same thing, she couldnt do it again. it's kinda sad that she has got the difficulty to learn maths concept since it is more complicated. however, after huiyin and 1 explain to her for a few more times, we are glad, she finally gets it. we tested her towards the end of the lesson and woohoo! she was able to answer the our qn correctly! she finally got the concept, after huiyin and i explained like 7 times?! but well. i must say, i was really really happy and glad that she finally understands it. she is really quite a pitiful kid. she is already 9, but is still in pri 1 because she spent 2 whole years in Genesis, a special school that cost 2k a month! thank goodness, both her parents are lawyers and so, they were able to afford the money. wat's more, she has to attend therapy sessions 3 times a week! and according to my mentoring teacher, the next day after her therapy, she will feel very grouchy and rowdy. but other than that, she is a lovely girl. and i believe that. the girl is really really lovely. if there is one student i miss in CHIJ OLN, it will be her. i really feel so much for her! i hope she will one day overcome all her learning disorders. oh!! she may be bad in maths, but she is really strong in her english!! as in, she is really really good. her english standard way surpasses a pri 6 girl. and i mean it. it's really strong! before i left today, i bought her this cute little notebook and i left a short msg inside for her, just to encourage her. ha. she really touch my heart. and i must say, though i didnt spend alot of time with her, i really love her. and no, not in a sympathetic manner but because of her character. she really is so polite and kind hearted and this is wat makes her a lovable kid.

enough of mary-anne. talk about OLN in general. the girls there are rather polite and well behaved. the school culture is funny. or maybe is typical of a catholic school but because i have never been in such schools before, i find it funny. well. i know there's a morning prayer. but i nv expect there to have a school dismissal prayer. and the way the girls greeted the teachers goodbye is also very special. the girls will go "thank you teachers and may God bless you and may your Guardian Angels watch over you!" the first time we heard it, we really found it special and funny and cute. haha. especially when the pri 1 girls said it in their ever-so-cute voice. haha. the teachers there are nice people also. ok. i shall be honest. NOT all are nice pple but a large majority of them are nice. as in, when we were in the staff room, some teachers will come and take the initiative to talk to us and to share with us their experience but there are also those who simply treat us as invisible and when we smiled at them, some will not return the smile. ha. even when we sit in to their class, some constantly make an effort to include us, but some PEOPLE simply take it as though we are not there. oh well. there are always 2 sides to a coin. ha. my principal is also a kind lady. but i wont say that for my vice principal. as huiyin puts it.. "she is like someone with a dagger behind her, ever so ready to back stab you." ha. my principal took the initiative to join us for lunch and talk to us. but for the VP, when the P sat down with us, the VP (who came with the P) simply went off to sit at another table. and when we were being introduced her, she also didnt bother to like shake our hands watsoever unlike the principal. ha. but oh well.. maybe she is just someone who is cold~ ha. but all in all, i really really enjoyed my time in CHIJ OLN. i will definately want to go back to that school again, if there is ever another chance.

next up, montfort. am having serious thoughts about changing to the primary track. haha. well. praying hard that my time at montfort wouldnt be too bad. haha. hopefully, i will leave montfort with fond memories like i did in OLN. ha. =)

- any 1 of the many many reflexes game i play in settlers! they are so fun!
- watch movies with darling FOC!!
- new clothes and shoes!
- a new leather watch!!
- lasik operation! to get rid of having to wear specs/contacts!
- a small sling bag for gai gai and a bag big enough for school
- a shopping spree in HK or Thailand!!
- a pair of birks?
